REO™ Robot-Assisted Therapy Program
Reo Therapy™ introduces an entirely new approach to delivering therapy for neurorehabilitation of upper extremities. Developed by Motorika Ltd., Reo Therapy is a computerized, robot-assisted therapy program that delivers highly engaging arm exercises to retrain the arm movements of patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions.

With benefits possible at all stages of recovery, Reo Therapy exercises involve active engagement of patient arm movements through movement patterns and interaction modes selected by the therapist. Therapists can easily design and store new exercise patterns to continually measure each patient's progress. The administering therapist selects the exercise pattern, mode of interaction, and number of repetitions based on the performance of the patient.

Robotics provides the ideal vehicle for facilitating engaging, repetitive movement training. Combining an innovative and proprietary robot-assisted training platform with an in-depth understanding of neurorehabilitation, Reo Therapy enables recovery results that outstrip the boundaries of traditional therapies.

REO Robot Proven Clinical Results
  • Reduced Tone -
Following a single session of Reo Therapy, tone was reduced throughout the entire arm, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

  • Reduced Pain -
Stroke patients with loss of upper extremity movement often suffer shoulder pain, which sometimes can be exacerbated by therapy. Most patients have reported a decrease in shoulder pain after just 15 minutes of one Reo Therapy session.

  • Improved Coordination -
Patients treated with Reo Therapy have exibited improvements in active range of motion (ROM) and in overall coordination of arm movements.

  • Improved Gait -
Patients whose gait was affected by their inability to properly move their upper extremities showed a marked improvement in gait following Reo Therapy sessions.

  • Functional Gains -
Therapists reported that following a Reo Therapy session, subsequent components of their patients' therapy session were more productive, an improvement they attributed to the effects of Reo Therapy.
